  After spending a little over $200 on a ton of Instant Heat pellets the only thing that ended up burning was my ass!

  I'm starting to come to the conclusion that like pellets are not alike and burn differently in different stoves. I went through 20 bags of Instant Heat and found them to be clean, uniform, with no clinkers, light ash, and almost no dust as I poured them into the hopper. This may be contrary to others who have posted but I'd have to say I was pleased with them. I did burn a few bags of Lignetics and found them to be equal in all manner except for one thing...the Lignetics burned hotter. I'm going to duplicate my burns now that it is colder and see if they burn at the same output. I say this because I did make a few adjustments to the stove settings.

  Burned 10 bags of these in my Quadra-Fire Santa Fe. They fed okay although many pellets were as much as 2 inches long. The clinkers they left in the pot were the largest I've ever seen. Mandatory to clean the pot at least once a day with these. Not a good pellet.

  DuraQuad 1200 stove. I purchased these pellets this year from tractor supply and some of the pellets are large and seem to clog the auger. Anyone else have this problem? I am open to suggestions for solving problem

  we try instant heat as a first time pellet stove owner we found out very messy and low heat output if anyone can help I have breckwell floor model what is the best pellet out there that has low ash and better heat output

  We have tried a number of brands of premium pellets since 2008 and have had mixed results, even varying within the same brand, different lots. As our newly opened local Tractor Supply was having a 10% off sale, we bought a few bags of INSTANTHEAT, Addison, NY, for $3.86 a bag. Last season we finished up with Hamer's Hot Ones and did well. We had been buying Tree Cycle, because of price and being a local plant, but were not happy with them. Heat output was so-so, and they were very dusty, with a lot of residue at the bottom of the bag...and we are talking about 2 - 3 cups of small pieces and dust. Ash was also an issue.
  Upon opening the INSTANTHEAT bag I found that the pellets were quite uniform, shiny, hard, and well pressed. My delight was that there was little residue at the bottom of the bag. Yes, we realize that rough handling can create this issue, but in the case of Tree Cycle, every bag in 3 tons we bought (not at the same time) had this problem.
  I noticed that while pouring the bags in the hopper there was little dust from them. As it's early in the season, it may be too early to tell about the heat output, but they do appear to burn clean and with little ash. I'll update this as the season progresses.

  I tried the Instant Heat in my wood pellet stove this week. They do not produce the heat needed up here in the North. I clean my stove once a week with Barefoot. The only reason I purchased these from Tractor Supply, was money wise, however, it was not a good idea.

  Bought Instant Heat pellets at Tractor Supply after using a ton of Stove Chow pellets, which were terrible. Instant Heat burns hot and leaves little ash in my Breckwell P22 insert, and it does not build up in the burn pot like the Stove Chow did. It does leave soot on the glass, but I still only need to clean the unit once weekly with Instant Heat. I was cleaning daily with Stove Chow. I will buy Instant Heat pellets again.

  I got a ton at Tractor Supply and burned them in a Thelin Parlor 3000. They leave lots of ash and soot up the glass in a day. If you like to clean your stove twice a week, they might be OK. I have bought two-bag test trials of other pellets, pricey and cheap, and anything else I have tried has outperformed them in cleanliness and heat output. I won't bother with Instant Heat again. Live and learn!

  Worst pellet ever, high ash content requires daily cleaning, poor heat output and burn quality. Frequent spillovers of the pot even at low to medium burn rates, purchased at Tractor Supply.

  Just bought Instant Heat pellets to try.. agree with Chris.. high ash and soot...but I also noticed a smell that I have never had with New England...even though New England costs more..they are worth the extra.

  Terrible pellets, I have a breckwell top of the line insert and have burned Okanagan up to this year and had no problems. Instant heat pellets put out low heat, sometimes don't even burn posing a safety issue when they build up and overflow the burn pot, and I have to clean the burn pot every morning. More ash and black soot that I have ever seen! Got them at tractor supply, NEVER AGAIN!

  very high ash output, does not put out good heat and I find myself cleaning the stove everyother day, instead of every forth day.

  I would concur with the others that overall this pellet doesn't produce as much heat as some of the others like the Lignetics or I just picked up some AWF which seem much hotter also.

  I got ahold of some great pellets barefoot pellets they .ot only burn great but im burning less went from 6 tons a year to 5 and less ash too good price 225 isnt bad for a premium pellet that has that low an ash content

  Did not care for them as they seemed to produce more ash and less heat. I even reset my high-low limits on the the thermostat so the stove woud stay on longer. I burned Dry Creek for 3 years before that and liked those but could not get them anymore. I have a Whitfield Profile 20 free standing unit in Eastern CT. Going to try some softwood pellets (Clear Choice Evergreen Blend) this year.

  I have to agree with Connie. I too live in upstate NY and I burn Lignetics throughout the winter because of the great heat that it throws off. But when it starts to get warmer I burn instant heat because it does not get all that hot,just enough to get the chill out of the house.

  We live in the upstate NY area and have found that the Instant Heat's are only ok for the Spring & early Fall but not the dead of winter. The heat output just isn't there. We love & burn Barefoot Pellets in the winter as they throw very nice hot heat(burn about 4 ton) and purchase one ton of others like Instant Heat for the not so cold times.

  Jim, I'm trying to get reviews on Instant Heat pellets. So far, all I see is your comment. How do they burn and how much ash do they produce? Tractor Supply has them on sale for $204/ton. Dennis

  Burned 2-1/2 tons, excellent.
